Terms of Use

Last updated: 23 October 2026

Who runs this site

deskawayly.com is operated by DeskAway, a recruitment matching service based in Hobart, Tasmania. By using the site or applying through it, you agree to these terms. Please stop using the site if you do not accept them.

Words used here

"Employer" means the business that offers a role and would hire you. "Role" or "listing" means a vacancy shown on the site. "Application" means the form you submit together with the WhatsApp message that completes it.

What DeskAway does

We publish remote roles on behalf of employers, review applications and introduce suitable applicants to those employers. We are not the employer. Using the site, applying, or being introduced does not create an employment relationship between you and DeskAway, and does not guarantee you a role, a set number of hours or any level of income.

About the listings

Each listing describes the work, the usual weekly hours and the device the work needs, based on what the employer has told us. A role may fill or change at short notice. If we learn that a listing is out of date, we update or remove it.

How to apply

Step one is to complete the form. Step two is to send the WhatsApp message that opens after you submit; it is already written, and you only need to press Send. Applications are processed only after that message arrives. If you cannot use WhatsApp, email careers@deskawayly.com instead and we will continue by email.

Applying costs nothing

Applicants do not pay DeskAway anything, at any stage. Nobody acting for us will ask you to buy credits, top up an account, pay to unlock a role, or pay to release wages. If anyone asks for money in our name, do not pay, and tell us.

Pay and working conditions

Pay, hours, training and start dates are set by the employer, not by us, and depend on the role and the hours you work. Before you start, ask the employer to confirm in writing its legal name, what the work involves, the rate of pay and how it is calculated, the expected hours and when you will be paid. Do not start until you have that.

Keeping information accurate

We try to keep the site, our ads and our messages consistent. If you notice that one of them says something different from another, tell us and we will correct whichever one is wrong. General statements on this site do not override anything specific that an employer confirms to you in writing.

Being introduced to an employer

If a role fits, we tell you the employer’s name and what the role involves, and ask whether you want to be put forward. We only send your details once you say yes. After the introduction, the employer runs its own checks and makes its own decision. You are free to decline any offer, and declining does not affect other roles you may be considered for.

Withdrawing an application

You can withdraw at any time by telling us on WhatsApp or by email. We will stop putting you forward straight away. If you were already introduced to an employer, please let that employer know as well.

Your personal information

How we collect and use your details is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Using the site properly

Please do not submit false details or apply in someone else's name, send spam or harmful code, try to break or overload the site, or copy listings in bulk with automated tools. We may ignore applications that break these rules.

Our content

The text, layout and images on this site belong to DeskAway or are used with permission. You may view and share pages for your own job search. Please do not republish them for commercial purposes without our written consent.

Other services

Applying involves services we do not control, including WhatsForm and WhatsApp, and the site links to other websites. Their own terms apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.

Availability

We aim to keep the site running but cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, pause or remove any part of it without notice.

Your rights under consumer law

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, DeskAway is not liable for the decisions or conduct of employers, for loss of income or opportunity, or for indirect loss arising from your use of the site. Where our liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to supplying the service again.

Mistakes

If we make an error on the site, such as an outdated listing or a typo, we will correct it once we notice. An error does not create an offer of employment.

What we ask of you

Give accurate details, keep your WhatsApp number active while your application is open, and check any offer directly with the employer before you accept it.

Things outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages at a service provider, network failures or natural disasters.

If part of these terms fails

Should a court decide that one clause cannot be enforced, the remaining clauses stay in force. Not enforcing a term immediately does not mean we have waived it.

The full agreement

These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and DeskAway about the use of this site.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of Tasmania, Australia. You and DeskAway submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tasmania.

Notices, contact and changes

We send notices to the email or WhatsApp number you gave us. You can reach us at careers@deskawayly.com. We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.
