Remote job ads attract scams, and applicants are right to be careful. This page sets out, in plain language, what DeskAway does, what it does not promise, and what to check before you accept any role. It sits alongside our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
DeskAway is a recruitment matching service based in Hobart, Tasmania. We list roles for partner employers and introduce applicants to them. The employer, not DeskAway, decides who is hired, and sets the pay, hours, training and start date.
The same requirements appear on our homepage and on the application form: you must be 21 or older, live in Australia and have your own Australian bank account. We state them up front so nobody spends time applying for something they cannot accept.
Applying is free. Applicants are never asked to pay for training, equipment, credits or access to a role, or to hand over passwords, one-time codes or banking logins. A request for any of these is a warning sign. Stop and contact us.
Role descriptions, usual weekly hours and device needs come from the employers who list with us. We review them before they go live and update or remove listings that change or fill.
Our Google ads link to this site and describe the same roles and the same two-step process. If you see an ad that does not match what is on this site, please tell us so we can fix it.
Applying takes two steps: the form, then the WhatsApp message it opens. Applications are processed only after that message arrives. A person reviews every one; no decision is made automatically.
Before you start any role, get the employer's legal name and written confirmation of the pay rate, how pay is calculated, the hours and when you will be paid. We cannot check these on your behalf once you are dealing with the employer directly.
We use Google tags to count visits from our ads and to see how many people open and submit the application form. These tags do not receive the answers you type into the form. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
If a listing looks wrong, an ad seems misleading, or anyone asks you for money in our name, email careers@deskawayly.com. Include screenshots if you can. We reply in writing and act on reports promptly.
